Current recommendations suggest adopting an active prevention strategy similar to that used in high cardiovascular risk patients.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Control of Risk Factors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Controlling modifiable risk factors is central to management:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hypertension<\/strong>: the main contributing factor; requires strict control to limit progression of small vessel disease<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dyslipidemia<\/strong>: statin therapy depending on overall risk profile<\/li>\n<li><strong>Diabetes<\/strong>: optimization of glycemic control<\/li>\n<li><strong>Smoking<\/strong>: complete cessation recommended<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lifestyle measures\u2014including regular physical activity and a balanced diet\u2014contribute to overall vascular risk reduction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
